Frequently Asked Questions

  • Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a collaborative process where we work together to address challenges in your emotional, mental, or behavioral health. My goal is to provide a supportive and safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and develop strategies to improve your overall well-being.

  • You don’t need to wait until things feel overwhelming to seek therapy. If you’re experiencing persistent feelings of stress, anxiety, sadness, or having difficulty with relationships or life changes, therapy can help. I also work with individuals who want to gain deeper self-awareness and personal growth.

  • During our sessions, you’ll have a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk openly about what’s on your mind. I’ll listen carefully, ask questions to help you reflect, and guide you in identifying patterns or solutions that support your goals. Each session is tailored to your needs, and we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

  • The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the challenges you’re facing. Some people find a few sessions helpful for a specific issue, while others benefit from ongoing support. During our initial sessions, we’ll discuss your goals and create a plan that works best for you.

  • Yes, everything you share with me in therapy is confidential. I take your privacy very seriously and follow strict ethical and legal guidelines. The only exceptions are situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law, such as reporting abuse. We can discuss confidentiality further during our first session.

  • It is so important to feel comfortable and connected with your therapist. I also know how hard it is to reach out when you are feeling down, depressed, anxious or overwhelmed. It can feel daunting to tell your story to someone new, or worry that you will open up and then it won't be a good fit. I encourage you to reach out for an initial consultation so we can discuss your needs and decide together if we’re a good fit. I’ll always be honest about whether I believe I’m the right person to help or if another therapist might better meet your needs. I also am committed to responding to your inquiry within 24-hours.

  • Therapy is a process, and its effectiveness depends on many factors, including your willingness to engage and our ability to work well together. I’m here to support you every step of the way, and together, we’ll focus on your specific goals to create meaningful change. Many of my clients have found therapy to be a transformative experience, and I’m committed to helping you achieve the best possible outcome.

  • Because I reserve a time-slot specifically for you, I ask that you notify me 48-hours in advance if you need to cancel your appointment. I understand that life happens, and do my best to reschedule you within the same week, if I have openings.
