I hold a PhD and MSW from the University of California Berkeley. I completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UCSF in the Department of Psychiatry where I conducted clinical services research as part of an NIMH-Funded training program. I completed my undergraduate training at the University of Michigan, and graduated with high honors and a triple major in Social Science, Spanish and Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
I have worked in health care as a clinician, clinical leader and health care executive for over 15 years. Most recently, I served as Chief Behavioral Health Officer at a large health center in Marin County, where I oversaw psychotherapy, psychiatry, case management and substance abuse services. I have also served as adjunct clinical faculty at UC Berkeley’s school of Social Welfare, and have consulted and trained on trauma-informed care, vicarious trauma and burnout for organizations across California.
I am passionate about providing evidence-based, culturally tailored psychotherapy to a wide range of diverse individuals. My approach as a therapist is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. In addition to my private practice, I also provide training, consultation and supervision to junior clinicians and lay counselors.
I am fluent in Spanish and have spent time living and working in Latin America. I enjoy living in Marin with my family, playing music and spending time in nature. I love the work that I do.
